Richard III – William Shakespeare

La Dual Band’s Richard III is a dark, fast-paced journey through a dysfunctional royal family consumed by ambition, violence, and the hunger for power. Kings rise and fall, while Richard cuts a ruthless path toward the crown. At the heart of the performance stand the women—queens, mothers, wives, and grandmothers—who witness the destruction of their family and transform their grief into curses and ritual. Moving between tragedy, grotesque comedy, and an almost cinematic rhythm, the production exposes power as a brutal family game and asks what happens when ambition finally meets conscience. Through Shakespeare’s history, the performance holds a mirror to our own time: reminding us that understanding the past is also a way of understanding ourselves.
